The Museum will be open each Thursday from May 6th through October 7th, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

The Oxford Historical Society is a private, non-profit educational and cultural organization established in 1970, chartered in 1981, with about 100 members. It's goal is to preserve and share Oxford's history with the community. The Society collects, preserves and tells the story of Oxford's colorful past through interesting museum exhibits, educational presentations, reference libraries, photographs, and collections of local artifacts. Some of the fascinating materials documenting life in Oxford are: local Rail Road (O & W and D L & W) antiquities, Oxford Academy memorabilia, and Civil War relics to name a few of the items (over a hundred years old) that can be seen there. The museum was recently honored, to receive and display, the spectacular Fred Stevens' Native American arrow points and other artifacts collection as well. These rare items are from the four Warn Pond historic sites. All of this and more can be seen at the Oxford Historical Museum, housed in an authentic Railroad Depot!
At the museum, you can consult with the Historical Society's officers, or the Town Historian and author, Charlotte Stafford, who are both knowledgeable and friendly about Oxford's past, and can be contacted for identification about antiques/collectibles, and can help with locating reliable history resources.

The Society presents educational programs, free to the public, five times a year, starting at 7:00pm.

Member dues are $10.00 per person/household. New members are always welcome! Call: (607) 843-9446 or just visit the Depot, on a Thursday, and fill out an application.
